SA Navy vs Metrorail – 31 August 2012

On Friday, 31 August 2012, Metrorail participated in one of its first friendly soccer challenges against the SA Navy at Glencairn Sports Field after a five years break. Despite the 13o temperature and 80% of rain, both teams declared that there's no rain in football, there's football in the rain.

The SA Navy  team took a lead of 2 – 0 during the first half and Metrorail came back by full force on the second half to settle the score. The final score was a draw:  Metrorail 2 – 2 SA Navy.  The soccer match was about encouraging employees to participate in organizational activities, promote employee wellness, building strong stakeholder relations & strengthen the public image of Metrorail.
