Summer Holiday Train Timetable

  • A normal Sunday train service (plus Summer trains on the Simon’s Town line) shall operate on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 December 2008 and Thursday 1 January 2009
  • ADDITIONAL TRAIN FISH HOEK – CAPE TOWN: To operate on Public Holidays Friday 26 December 2008 and Thursday 1 January 2009 only. On arrival of Summer train 0130 at Cape Town at 17:32 this set must immediately depart as
    EC 0097 at 17:35 from Cape Town to Fish Hoek.
  • CAPE TOWN - WORCESTER TRAIN SERVICES: This train service must operate according to a Sunday service on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 December 2008 and Thursday 1 January 2009.
  • MALMESBURY TRAIN SERVICE: This train will NOT operate on Sunday service on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 December 2008 and Thursday 1 January 2009, and will stand over at Malmesbury on those days.
  • SUMMER TRAINS: SIMON’S TOWN LINE (SUNDAY 14 DECEMBER 2008 – SUNDAY 29 MARCH 2009): These conditional Summer trains on Sundays and Public Holidays must operate from Sunday 14 December 2008 to Sunday 29 March 2009 (both dates inclusive). These trains shall also operate on Public Holidays Thursday 25 and Friday 26 December
    2008 and Thursday 1 January 2009.

REDUCED METRO TRAIN SERVICE DURING SUMMER HOLIDAY PERIOD (MONDAY 15 DECEMBER 2008 – FRIDAY 16 JANUARY 2009).

To allow for expected reduced commuter demand during the coming December – January holiday period, the following weekday passenger trains are withdrawn from the service from Monday 15 December 2008 – Friday 16 January 2009.
